I had forgotten about violets

We are in the “before times.” What exactly is coming? And how will life look different in a few years (or far less)?

And we’re also in the aftermath of the world we knew. Much has changed in the last eleven weeks, since January 20’s flurry of executive orders began upending long-held norms and creating even more chaos and anxiety than most of us admit living with. Far more.

I value being a person who would do something about things that concern me. I value being brave. I value putting my shoulder to the plow. I value action over talk. But with a lot of different issues flooding the news and a lot of people I love directly affected by job cuts and orders and even rumors, where should I focus? What should get my attention? What first?

I dreamed last night that one of my children was being hit over and over with a big stick. And I couldn’t stop it. And it just kept going.
